Fire doors with glass

Fire doors specific to your building requirements.

Fire doors with glass not only slow the spread of fire in a building, but also protect vital evacuation routes so that people can exit the building safely. With internal fire doors and external fire doors from Fire Industry Specialists Ltd, you can protect lives and meet your legal obligations in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the amendments covered in the Fire Safety Bill 2021.

Need some new fire doors for your property? Call us for a quote.

A fire door is required to offer two main functions:

  • Maintain any compartmentation of buildings in order to limit fire spread
  • Enable access to protected escape routes such as corridors, lobbies, and stairways whilst maintaining fire resistance and limiting smoke movement.

From new construction projects requiring fire doors, to upgrades and replacements in an existing building, we provide door sets (both the door leaf and the frame) to meet required fire resistance levels. Our fire doors with glass provide 30 to 120 minutes of resistance depending on the needs of your building.

Fire door FAQs

What fire door ratings do you offer (e.g., FD30, FD60, FD90, FD120)?
We supply a comprehensive range of fire door ratings to suit a variety of environments and risk levels, including FD30, FD60, FD90, and FD120 doors. Each rating reflects the door’s ability to resist fire for a designated period, ranging from 30 minutes up to 2 hours. This allows us to meet the specific fire protection needs of residential buildings, commercial premises, healthcare facilities, and more.
Which third-party certification body are you accredited with?
FIS Ltd is fully accredited by IFC Certification Ltd (International Fire Consultants) for fire door installation. This third-party certification provides assurance that our installations meet rigorous industry standards and UK legal requirements. Working with an IFC-accredited installer ensures you’re getting independently verified quality, reliability, and compliance.
Can you provide the relevant fire test certificates and documentation?
As fire door specialists, we can provide full fire test certification and supporting documentation for all fire doors we supply and install. This includes performance data, compliance with relevant British Standards, and installation records, helping you maintain a traceable and fully compliant fire safety record for your building.
What finishes are available for fire doors?
Our fire doors are available in a wide selection of finishes to suit different settings and interior designs. Options include painted finishes (with custom RAL colours), timber veneers for a natural look, high-pressure laminates for durability in high-traffic areas, and edge or face protection systems for added impact resistance. We can tailor the finish to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
Do you offer fire-rated vision panels, and what are the options?
We offer a variety of fire-rated vision panels to suit different building layouts and visibility requirements. Standard options include rectangular, square, and circular panels, but we also offer custom configurations depending on your fire door specification. All vision panels are certified to maintain the fire integrity of the door and meet building regulation requirements.
Do you offer fire door installation services, and are your installers certified?
We provide a full fire door installation service, carried out by our IFC-certified installation team. Our fire door installers are trained and audited to ensure every door is fitted in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and fire safety regulations. Proper installation is key to performance, and third-party certification gives our clients peace of mind.
How quickly can you return a tender BOQ or provide a quote?
We understand how important timelines are in construction and refurbishment projects. That’s why we aim to return smaller fire door quotes within 48 hours, and larger tender BOQs within 5 working days. Our team works efficiently to provide accurate, detailed quotations to keep your project progressing without delays.
Can you supply fire-rated flat entrance doors for residential buildings?
Yes, we can supply PAS 24 and Secured By Design (SBD) fire-rated flat entrance doors that are suitable for residential and social housing projects. These fire doors are tested for both fire resistance and enhanced security, offering protection against fire and unauthorised entry. They’re fully certified and compliant with current building regulations.
Can you supply certified steel door sets?
We supply a wide range of certified steel fire door sets, designed for environments that require both fire protection and robust durability, such as commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, and industrial sites. Available in single, double, louvred, and glazed configurations, our steel doors meet fire and security compliance standards.
Can you provide fire door surveys?
Yes, we offer comprehensive fire door surveys carried out by experienced professionals. Our surveyors assess the condition, compliance, and performance of your existing doorsets, checking for defects, wear, and regulatory adherence. You’ll receive a detailed report outlining any required remedial actions to bring your fire doors up to standard.
Can you remediate existing fire doors?
We can provide fire door remediation services to improve the performance of existing doorsets. This may include replacing seals, adjusting ironmongery, or repairing door edges. However, it’s important to note that remediated fire doors cannot be re-certified as new, and may still need to be replaced to achieve full compliance. We’ll always provide honest, expert advice on the best course of action.
